DICOM files: what to request
What DICOM is
DICOM stores the image together with acquisition parameters: slice thickness, pixel size, position. That is why measurements are possible only with original files — screenshots and JPG images are not enough.
What to ask for
Ask for the study in DICOM, all series, including reconstructions. Check the size: a typical MRI study takes hundreds of megabytes, a contrast CT — several gigabytes.
How to send
Cloud link with limited access is the most convenient way for large archives. Do not publish links to medical data in public chats.
